Alex-Leigh Flanagan

Born and raised in South Jersey and currently residing in Haddon Township, Alex is the Founder of A Beautiful Birth NJ, LLC. She first felt called to doula work after the birth of her second child in 2018. Having had a doula herself for the birth of her first child in 2015, she deeply understands the significance of the doula role.She believes that birth is the most transformational experience one can have, and it is a true honor when families invite her to be part of their journey. 

Alex’s passion for women’s health is matched by her ongoing pursuit of knowledge within the field. She is CAPPA-trained as a labor doula and is certified through ProDoula & ABI as a labor and postpartum doula. She is also a certified HypnoBirthing childbirth educator. In addition to her certifications, Alex has attended numerous trainings, including Lamaze Childbirth Educator Training, Spinning Babies, and Postpartum Support International’s Understanding Perinatal Anxiety and Mood Disorders.

Alex has a long-time love for pregnancy and childbirth, having worked in visual merchandising for "Motherhood" and "A Pea in the Pod" at Destination Maternity’s corporate office, where the seed was planted for her to support and educate families during the perinatal period.

Outside of her work, Alex enjoys renovating her house with her husband, Earl, spending time with their three children and pets, and camping down the shore.
