Evana Cooper

Alliance Director

Evana Cooper is a proud South Jersey resident and devoted mother of four. With over 15 years of experience in birthwork and education, Evana’s journey began with her own challenging birth experiences, which motivated her to support others. In 2018, she founded EvanaBirths, offering childbirth education, labor, and postpartum care. As a certified monitrice, labor and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator, Evana has supported over 300 families, advocating for their needs at every stage.

Evana currently serves as the Doula Liaison at all three Virtua Hospital campuses, where she fosters collaboration between hospital staff and doulas. She works to ensure doulas have the necessary resources and training to provide quality care. Evana has also participated in the NJ Doula Dialogues program, which documented the experiences of doulas during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the years, Evana has taken on leadership roles in her community, organizing youth groups, coordinating events, and providing essential support to refugee families. Evana co-founded the South Jersey Muslim Homeschoolers group, creating a supportive environment for Muslim families, and continues to serve on committees in Cherry Hill, advocating for diversity and inclusion for families of color.

In addition to her doula work, Evana has taught in five countries and worked with diverse communities, bringing a unique cultural perspective to her practice. Certified in Newborn Resuscitation, Rebozo Practices, labor acupressure, and CPR, Evana is committed to offering comfort and safety during childbirth. She has been invited to speak at prestigious institutions like Rutgers University and collaborates with organizations like IDEO.org and The Taub Foundation. Evana is passionate about maternal mental health and strives to provide empowering births for every woman.
